Are large capacity drives more prone to failure?

I just got a good deal of this Western Digital 1TB drive on ebay. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136533&Tpk=WD1001FAES&IsVirtualParent=1

However, the percentage of low egg reviews concerns me. While looking over reviews for several 1TB drives, it seemed to me that drives over 1TB tended to fail more. Lower capacity drives failed as well according to reviews I compared them too, but it seemed that many of the 1TB (and up) drives all easily had at least 13% one egg reviews, with another 10% 14% percent in two or three egg reviews.

I know mechanical hard disks can fail at any time, but the review Ive seen for many models left me wondering. I mean, Ive never had another over 300GB, and Ive never had a drive fail on me. Heck, Im sure my first family computer from the 90s would boot up if I knew where the drive was.

Am I just glossing over the failure rate in smaller drives, or do large drives have more risk? I made the purchase of the used drive because it was a good price and WDs warranty stays with the drive. So I have another 2 years coverage. Plus I always back up my essential files to another hard disk and then to flash memory as well.

Anyways, do chime in.
