Hello,my friend just bought a computer with Windows 7 ultimate 32-bit while he is using 8g ram only 3g was used i assume that because it's 32bit,what i want to know, how can i check if his windows is pirated version or orginal?
Top my knowledge the only way to use a fake copy of Windows is to "acquire" a time-activation hack but these are usually detected by your Antivirus software,AVG in particular.
If your friends AV isn't picking up the hack and there is no repeated request by Windows to activate then the copy is most likely genuine.
I have experienced issues with WGA tool also especially with copies of Windows downloaded through my college link to Microsoft Dreamspark.
Looks to me like the copy is genuine but the person that installed Windows didn't do there homework around the system configuration and used the wrong windows version.
One thing you can do to retrieve the license key from the registry is download this small program from here................http://pcsupport.about.com/gi/o.htm?zi=1/XJ&zTi=1&sdn=pcsupport&cdn=compute&tm=5&f=00&su=p504.6.342.ip_&tt=4&bt=1&bts=4&zu=http%3A//www.magicaljellybean.com/keyfinder/
Daft question, but does the Microsoft Windows license sticker match the installed operating system?
no there were no sticker,he bought the computer as parts and let someone install them and install windows
If someone sold him a copy of windows, he should have received installation media and a COA, at the very least, the COA. Without it you'll run into problems if you ever have to reactivate the OS.
