GPU: GeForce GTX 660
CPU: Intel Core i5-3450 CPU@3.10GHz

when i first bought it i never had screen tearing problems when watching movies/videos on the net. a few months later now that is all i get. i tried putting v-sync on and it does literally nothing the screen tearing stays the same, i have a Samsung Syncmaster 205bw 59/60hz display. please could someone help? ive tried newest drivers everything :( i just wanna watch my movies without this horrible problem that has appeared from general use overtime? :( thank you to anyone that can help.

Are you sure that you mean screen tearing? This only happens in games and does not happen when simply watching videos. Could you describe the problem?

well when i first got the pc. WoW would run perfect then a few months later i see wow runs a little less performance wise now. but i don't get screen tearing or visable screen tearing in game but now if i turn v-sync on in game i get tremendous drop in fps and screen tears. but as i said if i turn off v-sync in the in-game setting its perfectly fine. but if i watch youtube or anything with video online whenever there is something moving the screen gets a line through the middle like distorted? sorry if screen tearing isn't the right word. but thats what it looks like to me. thanks

Open your case and take a look at your PSu (especially how many amps are on the 12v line), it might be crap and messing with your pc

ok sio i cant open it cause i have no idea how to but i watched a review of the same spec as mine as the guy said it had a 330w psu

Well the easiest and fastest fixes I would suggest would be to check the temperatures. Run furmark for about 10 minutes and note the highest temp, post it here as well as the idle temp. I would also do the same with prime95, you can use something like hwmonitor to get the temps.

If those look ok I would reinstall your GPU drivers and possibly flash player since it might be a video acceleration issue.

I would first suggest trying your computer out with a different monitor to help determine if its the computer or the monitor that is at issues.

Also, screen tearing should only happen with V-sync off. Turning v-sync on should fix any screen tearing issues.
