Hello, please help me decide which AM3+ board is the best one for the job. Already decided to settle on AMD, now just wanting to find out which is the best AM3+ motherboard for the job and for possible future steamroller upgrading.

Not planning on OC'ing or SLI or Crossfire. Will be using the internet, using MS Office, light gaming (FIFA, racing, nothing too hectic).

Right now going to pair the board with an AMD Athlon2 X3 450 (3.2 GHz); 8Gb (2 x 4GB) G.Skill 1600MHz DDR3; 1TB HDD; GeForce 460GTX; Antec TP2 480Watt PSU.

These are the choices of motherboards:

ASUS 970 M5A97 R2.0
ASRock 970 Extreme4

Only considered these two as brand and stock availability is a bit limited over here, and haven't really considered 990 boards as I said because I wont be OC'ing or doing any SLI or Crossfire.

Please help me decide which one is best and why?

Thanks for the relpy, right now leaning towards the ASRock extreme4, but just realised that the ASUS M5A97 R2.0 is a newer board, would this make it better for future proofing / future CPU compatibility?

The ASRock extreme4 has had BIOS updates since june 2011 and the ASUS M5A97 R2.0 has had BIOS updates since june 2012, probably just after they were released.

Would anything like this make a difference to future proofing or would i just have to hope that the manufacturer continues to update the BIOS in future?
