I have been reading up on motherboard upgrades and most of the time people have said I would have to re-install windows when changing motherboards. Is this correct? As most of the time people are talking about the transition of motherboards from one brand to another. But would it still make a difference if I was just simply upgrading from the same brand?
Would I need to re-install windows if I am upgrading my motherboard to one of the same brand?

If your Windows version OEM it will be locked to your current mobo. If it's a regular windows version you can do whatever you please

As long as it's from the same generation, you just might have to install drivers. If it's from a newer generation for that processor type, you may have to re-activate windows.
