I've just upgraded my mobo to an Asus M5A97 R2.0, but t's not detecting my keyboard (Miscrosft Sidewinder X4) which is required to enter the first time setup of the BIOS, is there anyway i can get the mobo to detect the keyboard?

Since this is not a Gigabyte keyboard, you'll most likely have to use a keyboard with P/S 2 port to enter BIOS. Sidewinder X4 only has usb port. If you don't have any PS2 keyboard with you right now, it's ok to use a ps2-usb adapter, too.

I've tried using both a keyboard with a P/S2 connector and using an adapter on my sidewinder but neither worked, my keyboard lights up but the pc doesn't respond when I press F2 or Delete, also I haven't heard a POST beep from the mobo, I've also made sure that all my components are compatible, I have no idea of how I can solve this seeing as asus don't have a support line to call for their mobos

I see. I think it's your keyboard's fault now. Most likely its p/s2 port doesn't work anymore. Better find a way to send it back to the store.

What would being a "gigabyte" keyboard have to do with anything? This is an ASUS motherboard that is not seeing any USB or PS/2 keyboard of ANY TYPE on ANY PORT at POST time. I've tried half a dozen keyboard that all work fine from various OS's when booted on this machine but none of them work at the BIOS prompt.
