Essentially this is for my sister who wants to be able to play games that are already out with the option for being able to play new ones as they come out.

1. What is your budget?

€1000-€1400euro.

2. What is the size of the notebook that you are considering?

I don't have an exact measurement in mind, just something comfortable.

3. What screen resolution do you want?

Again, it's not the be all and end all. Value for money mostly.

4. Do you need a portable or desktop replacement laptop?

It's pretty much a desktop replacement.

5. How much battery life do you need?

It's not a huge issue but something decent.

6. Do you want to play games with your laptop? If so then please list the games that you want to with the settings that you want for these games. (Low,Medium or High)?

The Sims+Later generations.
Skyrim.

All on the highest they can go.

7. What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? (Photo/Video editing, Etc.)

It's mostly just browsing and using photoshop.

8. How much storage (Hard Drive capacity) do you need?

She has an external harddrive that is usb 3.0 so that can be used for bigger files.

9. If you are considering specific sites to buy from, please post their links.

I have nothing in mind.

10. How long do you want to keep your laptop?

As long as it remains useable.

11. What kind of Optical drive do you need? DVD ROM/Writer,Bluray ROM/Writer,Etc ?

Just your basic drive.

12. Please tell us about the brands that you prefer to buy from them and the brands that you don't like and explain the reasons.

I have no preference in brands.

13. What country do you live in? Ireland.

14. Please tell us any additional information if needed.

She has a habit of destroying everything she touches so something sturdy and reliable would be great.

Cheers to anyone who can help.

I would recommend you to go for either of the two :

1.Alienware M17x
2.Asus Republic of Gamers

Find a model with 8Gb Ram and 2GB Graphics (660/670 preferably)
They Both are gaming Laptops, area bit heavy but give hell of a performance.. Personally i would go for Asus because its cheaper and gives more or less same performance..

Acer v3 772g Haswell i7 4702MQ(2.2-3.2) GTX 760M(almost on 670M level), 8GB+ RAM, 1TB, 17.3 inch 1080p(really bright and great contras, but not as good viewing angles as on IPS displays),it can go 1h 11min on full load, 3h 23min WLAN, Skyrim 1080p, ultra(16xAF 8xAA) 33 fps avg., costs between 950-1500 €(depending on RAM(max 32gb), and SSD(none-120-256)) ...but acer in the past had problems with build quality and I'd like to warn you, however the last generation V3s were even chosen as 4th most reliable in a contest along with apple, asus, and lenovo laptops(but you never know, 20%+ fail rate at every manufacturer, after 3 years)... just search for V3 772 GTX760M and you'll find more about it ...oh also there is a version with the cheaper 750M(660M level)
