Both are great sets, not sure what you are building on AMD or Intel, but would offer I like the Snipers better on AMD, if going Intel I'd actually lean towards the Tridents on the Z87 and Z77 series and the Snipers and Ripjaws X are about equal performance wise on those chipsets, all will OC if you want to, but the Tridents have a little more headroom.

im not realy sure what way to go cpu wise to be honest... if intel im looking at either 3570k which is like 50 out of my budget or i5 3470 build with is 70 under my budget or amd 8350 which is like 20 over my budget or 6300 which is 80 under my budget.

my gut says go amd cuz new games are gonna be threaded more towards 8 cores soon and the am+3 socket gives mmore room for upgrades and im makeing a red and black theme haha amd fits, BUT my head says intel cuz currently all benchmarks and stats say its the best... im so confused and indecisive

Games are a long way from running 8 threads, and of your choices above, even at 4 cores, the 3570K runs circles around the 8350, even when running say 7-8 apps at once, with about the only real exception being video rendering, Intel OCs better and can also higher amounts and faster DRAM

As you bring up, when building the budget is often the big factor...if strictly gaming and it's a have to have now, then maybe get the graphics card and the lower end CPU, if you want something that may last longer, go the 3570K and bear the burden of the on board GPU for a couple weeks or what ever till you make up the difference money wise to get the 7870, and who know, in a couple weeks or so it may $15-$20 cheaper
