Q9500 Overclocking Help

hi i was wondering how to overclock my q9500 cpu, im new to overclocking but if someone can tell me which settings to chnage in the bios that would be a great help. I would like to overclock it to say about 3.4 ghz or somewhere near that.

Specs
Cpu: q9500 2.83ghz (lga 775)
Gpu: gtx 460
Motherboard: GA-G41M-Combo
Fan: Artic Cooling
Ram: 4gb
Power Supply: 560W

unfortunately with that motherboard you won't be able to overclock that CPU. Your limited. You could try a software overclock, with setfsb. but it's very unreliable.

If you could get your hands on a cheap, working 750/780 NVidia mobo or a P45, they would be ideal for overclocking that chip.

Just for information, you can try ebay for a second hand one. If you could get one for less than €50/$50, it would be a good buy, and will get you a little bit more time without having to complete upgrade. The Q9xxx CPU's were really good in their time (they are nearly 5 years old now) but even still they hold their own against the lower level I5's from intel. Good luck :)
