Switching motherboards and creating an backup disc

I plan on switching my motherboard and cpu. However, I have a copy of windows 8 that I downloaded online from microsoft. If I follow this guide

will I be able to boot from the disc I create and install windows 8?

Yes you'll able to boot from the disk you created and install Windows 8 from it, as long as you have the product key.

It did work, after I made my flash drive a bootable drive. I don't think I needed to even do that but whatever. It did take some struggling to get Windows to install, but that's Windows for ya.

Windows 8 can have activation problems if another computer "was" know to have the serial armed.
