PCI express ports

hi, the graphics card i chose for my new pc build has a PCI express 3.0 x16 on it. and all the motherboards i found with a AM3+ socket all have pci express 2.0 x16 on them. so i was wondering if a PCI express 3.0 x16 is compatible with a PCI express 2.0 x16? and if so does it affect performance in any way. thanks for reading

Yes, it will work. The performance will not be affected at all.

Yeah, off of what dannyboy2233 wrote above. There is no performance gain from 2.0 to 3.0. Video cards that are PCI-e 3.0 are backward compatible to PCI-e 2.0 slots. You will not notice any performance difference and you are good to go
