I'd like the best possible motherboard. A friend owns the Maximus V and highly recommends it. Waiting for the Formula VI. Haswell or SB-E?

I play on a high res, so I'd like high Vram, at least 4gb. Still deciding on the graphics card. Lowest model I'm looking at is the 7950 3gb. Also looking at the Titan and 780. Waiting for new Titan. Still haven't decided on SLI or Tri-SLI (or crossfire/trifire)

Already decided on a case and I'm buying it here, in New Zealand (it's cheaper considering shipping etc).
Also have a 2tb WD HDD from previous build with all my personal stuff.

Still don't know what CPU cooler to go with. Thinking Noctua D14, but I'm a lil out of date with latest stuff.

Potentially water cooling later, but I doubt it. Will be adding lots of fans though for max air flow.

If I think of anything else, I'll add it here.

I would never trust CFX to the extent of spending over $1k on it. Too many issues with drivers and other things of that nature...

Thank you :3 To be honest, this would be (by far) my most expensive build. I've been living with a Dell Latitude D630 for the past 8 months plus I had a mediocre computer which I just sold actually (was using the 3 screens for assignments, internet, programming). Been planning a beast and putting my penny's away. So for me, this is an incredibly big step up.

As for the 7970 you mentioned. Firstly, that's a Gigabyte. And I really, REALLY never want to go back to Gigabyte. Not a soul in the world can change my mind, to many bad experiences with quality, reliability, performance and customer support.

For 7970's in general, I like the look of Asus and Sapphire. The GHZ version. To be honest, until recently I was a biased nVIDIA fan, but I've opened up a bit more so I have no idea about AMD cards.

UPDATE:

Just realized everyone posted.

@Dannyboy2233:
Danny Boy. May I be the first to say, I love you and lets be friends xD :3 I love the build you posted. Problem with it though is I already have a case (an NZXT Phanton 820- White).

I'm a fan of the Workstation boards, and it's something I'd consider. Either that or the Formula/Extreme it seems.

The fans I'm eying up are the Corsair series ones. I've heard the NZXT x60 Kraken is amazing. What would be the best CPU cooler on the market atm? I'm quite fond of air cooling, but would not mind trying out some closed loop solutions?

@Marcopolo123

Thanks, but no thanks. One of my Golden Rules: Never touch gigabyte.

Also, I don't know if 780's are worth the extra $250-350......
Would be amazing though!

As long as the cards are powerful as fudge, and have large Vram, I'm happy.

Would getting a single titan, and adding a second be a better idea? Thinking of doing SLI Titan, maybe tri SLI later xD

UPDATE: Actually, I just did some research. The EVGA GTX 780 ACX looks amazing!
But is it worth it's weight in gold? It conquers the Titan in almost every game is marginally cheaper, around $300. It's well ahead of the 770.
