I have a Macbook Pro (2010) and I have an external monitor that the macbook plugs into. I've hated using one large monitor and one small monitor at the same time, so i've simply closed my macbook and use my external monitor.

I was wondering if I could flip my Macbook Pro over on its backside, so it makes it easier to cool itself without damaging any of the parts inside.

Any help?

Yes you can, that wont harm it at all -- just don't block any intakes or exhausts and you'll be fine
