Basically to keep it simple I want:
Fast processor, i7 3630QM is general idea.
Fast Hard drive, 7200 RPM, not specifically SSD
Sleek and skinny for the most part in size.
Fast video card, my favorite right now is the 650M
8GB Ram minimum.
1920x 1080 display with LED, I want a beautiful screen.
Decent battery life.
$1100 is absolute max price for the laptop to be shipped and sitting at my door.
In summary, this is my college laptop that I want to do whatever I happen to throw at it and last several years down the road.
Options picked out are:
http://www.shopping.hp.com/en_US/home-office/-/products/Laptops/HP-ENVY/C2L40UA?HP-ENVY-dv6-7214nr-Notebook-PC
Since Lenovo's site is complicated the next two are the models:
IdeaPad Y510p Laptop - 59370005
IdeaPad Y500 Laptop - 59371969

The HP is right now my favorite but I'm willing to be convinced otherwise for a better laptop for the same or cheaper price.
Thank you for any and all opinions.

$1200 is pretty steep, and this thing looks huge to lug around for classes?

Here's a smaller one. Without SSD, this costs only $1,080; it also gives you the capability to upgrade to an SSD later in the life of the laptop if need be.

Battery life is going to be great (since it's a Haswell CPU), and I don't think they run extremely hot; part of their bulkiness is fans, to my understanding.

Do you own one? I've never heard of this brand before, to be honest.
