Need graphics card to replace Nvidia GeForce 8500 GT

Thanks for the response. I was able to find a replacement for my card for $80. Given the system is going on six years old and I may soon need a new MB, I'm going keep the costs down as much as possible. It is a revelation how soon these technologies become obsolete. If you're fortunate enough to have your system last several years it will mean that you will also be unfortunate enough not to find compatible replacements and to have to replace the entire system.
