Problems updating ATI graphics drivers.

I have an HP Pavilion DV6 with an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650. I cant seem to update my drivers without incurring massive instability. I have tried updating with steam, then AMD's site, and then HP's site for my specific model. All failed. Does anyone know any more about this? I can provide more info.

What exactly error do you get? Try only driver, don't install Catalyst Control Center and be sure that the driver is WHQL

Uninstall catalys control center and just leave the driver.

What exactly graphics configuration?

Things like anisotropic filtering and anti aliasing. Other 3d settings.
