Howdy,

This is my first time building and I'm stuck. I've got a Gigabyte GA-H77N, i3 3220, 8gb Kingston HyperX RAM, and a Corsair CX500 psu. It all went together just fine, but when I boot I get the BIOS splash screen and then... nothing. The keyboard doesn't respond and the video goes dark but continues to send a signal to my monitor (when disconnected, the monitor says there's no signal). I had a SATA hard drive in there but I pulled it as it had an old version of XP loaded onto it and seemed to cause crashes and reboots. I've tried to boot from a usb drive and an external dvd drive, but since I'm not getting past the bios, I'm not really getting anywhere with that, either.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

try to get into bios as the first step.
ur ky seemed no work on your mb and u need to insert it in different usb port to see any working on.
most time the usb ports under lan port will and should work.
after entering bios, check sata mode if it is set to ahci by default and if your previous os installed in ide, please change it to reach the requirement.
