Hi, I built a new computer with a samsung 840 pro, knowing that the 840pro series is often called the best ssd's on the market today. all my ratings are either 7.7 or 7.9 except for the disk data transfer rate which is 5.9. AHCI mode is enabled

AMD fx-8350
ASRock 990fx extreme9
G.skill ripjaws x 16gb
Sapphire 7870xt boost ed.
samsung 840 pro series 128gb

am i missing anything on the settings?
thank you!

Is it connected to a SATA 3/6 port?

Have you benchmarked it with HD tune / AS SSD etc and compared your results with any reviews?
If your read/write speeds are ok don't worry about that index.

yes, it definitely is on a sata3 port since all my ports are sata 3.
read: 451MB/s
write: 275MB/s

I think this is far from the 500++MB/s from the review. I've read about enabling trim but how do i do it?

Did you try re-running the assesment? Is the SSD full? Are you running windows 7? What colour are your socks? Why am I asking so many questions? http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/276929-32-enable-trim

When the storage builds up, the drive tends to get slower. Maybe that's why...... try resetting your WEI (Windows Experience Index)

1. Open an elevated command prompt.

2. In the elevated command prompt, copy and paste (or type) the command below and press enter.

Code:
del /f %SYSTEMROOT%\Performance\WinSat\DataStore\*.xml

3. Profit! re-run the assessment on control panel
