Are these heat pipes damaged (CM Hyper 212 Evo)

I've bought a CM Hyper 212 Evo cooler. While the pipes near the bottom of the cooler looks normal, they are sort of crushed at their end (2 of 4 on each side).
Here are the pics:

Could you please tell me whether it's normal or not? I checked pictures on the CM website and they have nice/round pipes. Should I return the cooler?

Thanks

They are fine, you have nothing to worry about :-) Even if they are slightly damaged, that will not affect your cooling at all.

Yeah physically it seems not right. I don't know it will function properly or not. I would suggest replace the cooler.

Do what you think is right, but my 212 plus had similar "dents" on the top heat pipes and it cools my 2500K at 4.5Ghz to low 60s C just fine :-) If all else fails, you can always call their customer support and ask...

Thanks for your advice! I've sent email to CM customer support but it seems like they do not rush to answer it :)

You can't expect both expert build quality and expert performance in a 30$ product. Those dented tips are common, and as long as the rest of those pipes are normal, it won't affect the cooling performance.

After looking at mine, I realized it had similar dents. It functions fine, however, so I would think yours would be good as well.

My evo had 1 pipe like that , and my Noctua has two that are like that , but doesn't affect performance.

Sorry to bring up an old thread, but I just noticed the exact same thing on mine, and exactly the same heat pipes (the outer four). I swear these were NOT crimped or dented when I installed it. Could heat have crimped the ends somehow? Maybe this is a way to tell whether a heatsink has been used before?

It's normal , my EVO had 1 , and my huge Noctua had 2.
