First My Build.

PSU: Thermaltake Toughpower XT TPX-775M 775W ATX 12V (+3.3V@25A, +5V@25A, +12V@64A, -12V@0.5A, +5VSB@3.0A)

Mobo: ASUS Crosshair V Formula-Z

CPU: AMD FX8350

GPUs: 2x AMD HD 6870s Crossfired

Memory: G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB)

Storage: 1x OCZ Agility 4 SSD, 1x Western Digital 320gb 7200 rpm HDD, 1x 500 HP 500gb 5200rpm HDD

Case: Antec DF-85 Black Steel / Plastic ATX Full Tower

Cooling: CORSAIR Hydro Series H60 with 2x H100 fans push/pull.

Others: PCIe Network card, USB Keyboard, USB mouse, USB Mic., 2x 140mm Fans 7x 120mm fans.

Problem: Cannot raise CPU voltage at all without failure to boot.

I have had my FX 8350 overclocked to 4.8ghz since I bought it November 2012. I added a my second AMD HD 6870 for crossfire in Jan. 2013. Computer was running fine till April 2013.

One day my computer failed to boot yet all my components were on. Fans, LEDs, ECT. I had to Reset my BIOS to get my PC to boot again. After starting everything with default settings i ran prime95 everything worked fine.

I tried to overclock again and the computer was unstable or will not boot. Even at weak overclocks. You would figure you can get an easy overclock to 4.2 since that is its own turbo boost. No dice.

I then tried to just raise the CPU voltage with out raising its clock and the same unstable or unbootable problem is occurring.

Now the only way to run my computer is a default settings. >.> Lame.

Any Advice would be appreciated.

I have taken out the second GPU and am able to up the CPU Voltage, but not the multiplier. I cant get a overclock out of it. With my second GPU out, I medium overclock to 4.4GHz @ 1.4375V ( I used to get 4.75GHz with that voltage.) Turn my PC on and off a few times with no problems then run prime95 blend test for a bit. When I stop the test and try to reboot the overclock fails.

Also, I not sure if this is something else to consider because I do not remember my thermals when this started happening, but my thermals where high during the tests today and my OCs would only fail after prime95 tests.

Thank you for the help!

Its weird no BSoD, no lock up. I can run Prime95 no problem, but when I try a restart the PC after a prime run it wont boot. When I finally get it to boot after a few tries I get this message "your overclock failed press f1 to reconfig."
