Dear TH users,

I am planning to attend University this coming September, I need something durable, future-proof, portable. I have decided to build a Mini-ITX system with the following specs:

Intel Core i5-4670k @3.4ghz (Haswell)
Corsair Builder Series CX 750W Modular '80 Plus Bronze'
ASRock B85M-ITX Intel B85 (Socket 1150)
BitFenix Prodigy Mini-ITX Cube Case
Corsair Vengeance Blue 8GB @1600 mhz 9-9-9-24
WD 1TB 6GBS 64mb CACHE
Corsair HYDRO H40
Artis Silver Ceraminque

Total Price:£574

P.S I already own a GTX.

Can you guys suggest any changes, or improvements?

Kind Regards

1) EVGA GeForce GTX 660 FTW Signature 2 3072MB - Is a 750 too much?
2) I do plan to Overclock in the future, what M-ITX motherboard should I change to?
3) I got told only modular PSUs because normal PSUs won't be accommodated in a Mini-ITX build because of the cables.

Thanks!

If you're planning to overclock, then a B85 won't cut it. You forfeit access to the multiplier that way. The extra thermal compound is a waste of money.

This would be a better mITX rig:

- Better overall overclocking setup
- NZXT Kraken X40 is better than Corsair H40
- Motherboard that allows for overclocking
- Dropped the thermal compound
- You don't need a 750W PSU for a single GPU solution
