How should I store my CPU for a few weeks?

I need to RMA my motherboard and am wondering what I should do with my cpu and my graphics card for the few weeks they are not connected. Are there any special precautions I can take or will a cardboard box in a safe place be enough? Amd fx 4100 and a sapphire radeon 7970 so I'm eager to take care of both as best I can! Also what should I do with the ram? Even though I plan on having new sticks before MB gets back.

Thats why I always keep the original boxes. Original anti-static bag would be preferred for the GPU, and the original cpu foam and tray for the CPU. All the components are susceptible to static damage, but the RAM would be the worst of the 3.

You really need to watch the pins on the CPU. Bending or all together removing any of those is disastrous.

Unfortunately I don't have the original packaging for the gpu and the cpu came in a prebuilt so no packaging there either. I could attach the cpu to an old motherboard, or is there a better alternative?
