I have several games that work perfectly fine but will open in a windows. The games auto adjust to fit the screen and there isn't a boarder like what you would typically see when in windowed mode but the task bar is still on the screen. I have tried Alt+Enter, checked in the catylist control center and in the game settings and nothing seems to change it. Examples of a few games: Bioshock Infinite, Tomb Raider, Grid I and II, and Guild Wars II. That being said Day Z and Counter strike Source work just fine. I should also add that i recently upgraded to this video card last week from my old GTX 260 SLI set up.

try enable "Use Windows XP style scaling." In Windows 7, this is from the "Display" screen -> "Set custom text size (DPI)." In Windows 8, this is under the "Custom sizing options."

Thanks for your reply! Tragically that is already selected. The easiest way to explain this it image that the screen is set to full screen but the task bar is in front of it. I originally thought it was a funky setting with my monitor being set to expand displays, however i disconnected the other display and still the same result. also in my above post i stated that i just replaced my video card. It was doing the same thing with that card as well.

its usually caused by setting the dpi scaling to above 100% so you can see the screen text better. At least thats whats caused it for me.

This doesn't actually resolve the reason why it's doing it, but have you tried setting the taskbar to auto-hide? If nothing else it might at-least remove the annoyance until you figure out the solution.

Yeah that's what i have been doing to keep from mousing over the items in the task bar while playing. Thanks for the reply

I have messed around with the DPI settings and it didn't change anything.

Have you tried disabling or uninstalling all of the graphic software (minus the base driver)? I would try something like that and see if you still get the same issue.

Yeah I did that when I installed the new video card. I am wondering if it is in the game files but I don't understand how it can happen to multiple games out of the blue and then some games stay the same and work just fine. It's pretty frustrating really.
