Fresh build, computer starts, no video?

hey guys im using a known good vga cord, i just used it on my laptop, i just now had the first startup for my new build and im getting no video. im using the on board video for the asrock n68c-gs fx mobo with an amd fx 6300 cpu. i tried popping in the asrock driver cd, thought that might make it work by installing the drivers or not

anyone have any suggestions as to what im doing wrong?
ps. ill be reading your replies at work, leaving now so thanks for any help ill try to read through them throughout the day and think about them.

the FX series chips does not have integrated graphics itself, and it appears your motherboard doesn't have an integrated graphics chip either.

get a cheap graphics card... otherwise you won't have any video output

Oops. Yeah, you need a video card. Any pcie card will do to get video output. I suggest eBay so you can get a decent gpu for less money than new. A 460GTX is a good value used right now.

This honestly sounded like the perfect case for an AMD APU. if the parts are new, return the CPU and mobo for an A-series APU

Seems kinda pointless to have a VGA port on the mobo then doesn't it.....?

well, I was being too general. a few select FX chips has it (on the low end), such as FX4300, some older AM3+ chips have also had integrated graphics. AMD wanted their AM3+ socket to be pretty much compatible with everything that's been coming out over the last couple of years. which is good, but can create confusion like this.

I'm not getting any beep codes, I have a harddrive in there now with windows vista on it but I'm gonna dump it when I get the chance. No video, I haven't loaded anything onto the comp yet.

And yes I do remember seeing nvidia 7025 printed on a chip, so I'm confused lol

And no sorry I only answered 1/2 your question, I get no bios screen, nothing at all, I get no signal going from the VGA port to my monitor, nothing at all.

It's a hardrive from another computer yes, with vista on it. Could that be the problem?
And no, I get NO signal at all
Yes I have it turned to VGA and not dvi/hdmi

Well I have 2 sticks of ddr2, removing the ddr3 still didn't work with the 2 ddr2 in. But yea, no signal, no bios screen pops up, nothing at all

Nope that's it, everything on pcpartpicker is in my computer
Ill try just using ddr3 when I get home
