USB flash drive is write protected beyond reason

I tried the CMD attributes clear solution & the regedit setting value to zero solution & my sandisk 14G which is half-full remains write protected. All of the more obvious solutions have been tried, & it has no switch on the device. Any heftier solutions out there? Please??
