Hello,

I am using my landlords free internet connection. I want to know the best way to isolate myself from others, while connecting my own Desktop, laptop and Android. I want firewall protection.

He has a Cisco E4200 which I have wired my Win7 Ultimate desktop to. All his settings are default (I've asked.) I am thinking of buying a Netgear WNR-3500L on the cheap. I want to play with Tomato on it too.

Is this the best solution?
If so, how do I connect it so that I have internet access and my own SSID and firewall settings?

Hardwired router-to-router, but I'd like to know about the wireless option too, for the future. The router here just happens to be outside my door. Ideally none of my computers should connect to the landlord's router directly.

Also FYI: This router is piggy-backed onto another (Bridged) over Ethernet before it reaches the modem. They are the same model. I can see computers on both routers. I don't want to see or be seen by them.
