Hey All, I have an odd-ball power supply and I am thinking about cannabalizing an older ATX power supply to upgrade the power supply and make it compatible...
---The Plan---
1) Confirm voltages on the OEM PSU with a voltmeter.
2) Splice in the appropriate voltage wire from the 24-pin main ATX connector, using crimps, to the appropriate wire on the OEM PSU (the OEM PSU has one proprietary connector, a thin 6-pin inline that has 5 wires), the other two are standard 6-pin and 4-pin (not molex) setups.
3) Make a custom support rail to the case (probably would use L-brackets)
4) Make a custom faceplate to account for the space difference and to keep out dust.
Any advice on what NOT to do would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
