so, some times I play minecraft, with two screens. one for the game, one to watch youtube. sometimes my main screen goes all pink and I get moving pixelated artifacts on screen and I no longer can see my desktop. This has happened when I watch videos or sometimes just plain randomly. One time I was watching a video through Steam and my main screen goes all pink and crazy. So I paused the video and about 5 seconds later, the screen returned to normal. Whats Happening?

specs: HD R7770 x2 in crossfire

asus sabertooth 990 FX motherboard

Corsair GS 800

It may be a glitch with the drivers. As we all know, AMD CFX drivers tend to be subpar, so that may be causing the problem. Update your drivers, and if that doesn't work, make sure everything is properly connected. Also, download GPU-Z and check that a). each card is running at the same specs, and b). that they are running at the specs that they should be. :)

Thank you, my drivers are up to date with AMD. Perhaps beta drivers then? But I'll try those programs to see if that can tell me anything. The cars are XFX brand. Are they a good brand?

What's interesting is that only one screen is acting up. Try switching the video feeds. So plug the cable that's going into monitor "A" into monitor "B" and vice versa.

Yes, when I disconnect my main monitor, the second screen becomes my main monitor and thus goes all pink and wonky. Than when I reconnect it it goes back to the main screen. My OS did not crash, I can still click on things in my second screen.

alright, I downloaded the GPU-Z program. (pretty neat by the way). and I have noticed two things that im not sure if they are normal or not. first, the bus width on my first card is 128 bit while the bus on my second card is 32 bit. the bandwidth on the first card is 79.7 Gbs per sec while the bandwidth on the second is only 19.9 Gb per sec. and finally, the driver version for the first reads: atiumdag 12.104.0.0 (Catalyst 13.4) / Win7 64. while the second reads: atiumdag 12.104.0.0/ Win7 64.

Have you done this yet?
Try using a single GPU at a time for both monitors, so something not too intensive.
Then do the same with the other GPU.
The bit difference is concerning.
What are the two ports that you put the GPUs in?

now thats strange. I deactivated crossfire and now the stats are the same across the board. And also, when crossfire is enabled, my second cards fan shuts down. when not in use. but wait, it turns out the mem clock on the second card is significantly lower than the first. first is at 1000 mhz while the sec is only at 150 with crossfire off. Im gonna take them out and try different ports.

so It is the first and third ports that are supposed to be used. im trying the first and second and it wont detect crossfire. Im gonna try the One GPU at a time trick with minecraft or something and see what happens.

I have the same problem, thought it was crossfire but removed one of the cards and still happens. Updated to newest drivers did not fix. I know this is an old post but was hoping someone had an answer
