GTX590 Performance Problem?

Hello I've just got my GTX590 and the performance was really dissapointing compared to my GTX560ti which almost outperforms the 590. The 560 only got like 5 frames lower on all games which is kinda shocking in my opinion, I'm wondering if the problem is my PSU.

Gtx 590 (stock)
AMD 1090t (stock)
CX 600W PSU <------- Maybe the problem?

  1. The TDP of the 590 is 345 watts or so, so the PSU shouldn't be a problem... are you sure you've installed latest drivers, etc?

Yeah I've installed the 320.18 drivers from Nvidia's website.

Download a program called GPU-Z and make sure that your 590 is running at the specs that it should be. Then diagnose from there.
  4. The problem is 320.18 is crap, go to one of the 314's. Also make sure SLI is enabled.
  5. What game? It could be your CPU which is the bottleneck in the game, not the GPU - hence the minor improvement.

When your in the game, do any of your CPU cores hit 100%? Is the GPU at 100%?
  6. The GPU idles around 40-50C temp.

Multi-GPU is enable. (I suppose thats SLI)
I've installed the 314.22 drivers and GPU-Z looks fine, nothing wrong with the specs it shows.
The GPU usage seems to never go over 50% while gaming.

Having around 20-25 fps in World of Warcraft on Ultra with multisampling on 1 in a crowded area and 55-65 in environment where there's no players.
Arma II runs about 25-50 fps in Very high

Did you read my post about it potentially being a CPU bottleneck, not GPU?

In that case, it shouldn't be a matter of bottlenecking...
  10. I get higher FPS when I run with Multi-GPU off in WoW, weird.
  11. Installed the newest drivers from Nvidia and tried Mafia 2 on max settings, and guess what..? My PSU died...
