$1424 is a little over budget for me right now seeing as I will have to replace my monitor as well (current one only does 1680x1050) and I’m thinking of the Acer T232HL $499. So I can’t really shell out $2000 on a new build right now.

Could you guys help me reduce this to $1200ish, I really want to keep the GTX 680 and a Platinum PSU as electricity is Puerto Rico is $0.30 KW/h!!! and the signal is terrible!

Thanks in advance

1. Drop that motherboard down to an Asrock Extreme4, and save like $80.
2. That cooler is unnecessary; get a Corsair H60 and save $40.
3. Your GPU is unnecessary. I hate to say it, but you're better off just getting a high-level 770 (like the MSI Lightning) and OC'ing it to save $200.
There we go; that's $320 dropped from the build. Using that money, purchase the Dell U2412M monitor. Great setup! :)
If we don't get rid of the 780, you will end up with a not-very-good monitor, especially for a build of this price. :)

Unless your playing at 2560x1440 or higher there is no reason to get anything more than a GTX 770 and in fact a 670 would be sufficient.

You're spending a lot on the motherboard. Make sure you actually will use all of those features.

That water cooler is pretty expensive and unless you're going for an extreme >4.8 ghz OC you would be fine with a less expensive cooler.

I have a EN-T40-VD Cooler in my current rig I can use, I wanted the Water Cooler because I heard that its optimal for OC and Ambient Temp here in PR is around 30 C, but I guess I can live without it. Main reason I went for that mobo was because it won the $220 price range review on this page and it has Wi-fi and Bluetooth which I guess i can live without as well. So the Asrock Extreme4 is the runner up?

As for the GTX 780, I saw some benchmarks on LinuxTechTips that showed that the GTX 770 wasn't really a significant improvement over the 7870 series and it was either that card or to push for the GTX 780 but idk... Is the GTX 770 worth the extra $200 over the 7870?

Thanks for all the suggestions
