Hey, guys. I'm looking to finally upgrade the ancients pieces in my PC and I'm not sure what to get. I'm only looking to use this computer to play games(graphic demanding), code, and maybe stream. So i'm hoping you guys can help me out and point me in the right direction.

Specs:
MOBO: ECS G31T-M(1.0) LGA 775 Intel G31 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard

Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Quad-Core Processor 2.40 GHz

Graphics Card: XFX AMD Radeon HD 6870 900M 1 GB DDR5 DUAL MINIDP HDMI DUAL DVI PCI-E Video Card

RAM: CORSAIR XMS2 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model TWIN2X4096-6400C5

Power Supply: Rosewill Green Series RG530-S12 530W

Hard Drive: Some shitty IDE hard drive from back in the day

CASE: RAIDMAX SMILODON Extreme Black ATX-612WEB 1.0mm SECC Steel ATX Mid Tower Foldout MB Computer Case

So, everything that I have bolded is what I'm looking to upgrade except for maybe the MOBO unless I have to. I'm planning to get an i7 so I won't need to upgrade my processor again anytime in the near future.

Here is a link to the i7 processors. They come in a bundle with some MOBO's and would like some suggestions on what type of i7 and MOBO I should get. Only considering buying the bundle if I need to upgrade my MOBO.

RAM: I'm not sure what kind of RAM I should get. I remember hearing something about DDR2 ram sucks and that I need to upgrade. I'm hoping to get at least 8 gb of ram as an upgrade.

HardDrive: Looking to purchase a SATA or SSD, but I have no idea what to look for. I'm leaning more toward a SATA since its cheaper than the SSD.

Case: Looking for a new case that will provide sufficient ventilation. My current case feels way too compact and doesn't seem to provide much ventilation at all.

Price Range: I'm a college student so I'm looking for something that is cheap and will give me the best bang for my buck.

Also, I was wondering if my current power supply would be able to provide enough power for my future rig with an i7 and my current graphics card and all that jazz.

Thanks in advance for the help guys!

EDIT: I went onto pcpartpicker to choose some parts and this is what I came up with http://pcpartpicker.com/p/15UN7
The total prices comes out to be $462.88 since I'm getting the CPU and MOBO as a bundle from microcenter. I'm still looking for a case that will fit everything without it being too compact. Does anyone have any suggestions for a good case that is relatively cheap? Also, are the parts I picked okay?

You're not upgrading, you're essentially making another computer. What is your exact price range?

Probably 500-600 dollars at most. I know the CPU will cost about 300. I'm not so sure what the ram, hard drive, MOBO, and case will cost. I'm hoping it is under 500.

You need a whole new computer..... If i where you i would just save some more and get something really decent.... New Egg com has a lot of bargains. Seriously don't cheap out on your new pc ,build a somewhat impressive one that will last. You can get a nice 1000 dollar rig and then you can add to it down the line... that's my suggestion just an idea.

Save more money for maybe 3 or 4 more months than have a go at building a new pc with the extra cash you save....... Trust me you will thank me later.... just be patient you don't have to get a new pc straight away... trust me save some extra cash for a few more months.... The n go with a Zalman z9 ue3 case ,the i7 processor of your choice ,the gtx 770 700 watt psu a mid range mobo and a hardrive..... trust me you will thank me later.

I don't plan on upgrading my GPU anytime soon as I bought my current GPU about 10 months ago. I don't necessarily have to buy a new case but it's preferred. And i also just want to know if my current PSU can power the rig or not as I bought my PSU the same time I bought my GPU.
