thinking about building a small itx computer to take when i go to lan parties at a friends house so i dont have to lug my massive watercooled machine around. im looking at the latest APU by amd, but i cant find anything on Dual Graphics in my searches. anyone know the strongest gpu it will crossfire with? i heard rumors that they will cross with HD 7000, though im not sure. i would use the spare Phenom II X4 i have laying around, but i cant find any am3 itx boards :/

A10-6800k is FM-2 socket. these boards :http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=100007625+600370105+600009028&QksAutoSuggestion=&ShowDeactivatedMark=False&Configurator=&IsNodeId=1&Subcategory=22&description=&hisInDesc=&Ntk=&CFG=&SpeTabStoreType=&AdvancedSearch=1&srchInDesc=

If you have a X4 laying around I would use that with this board,
http://www.amazon.com/ZOTAC-Chipset-Mini-ITX-Motherboard-890GXITX-A-E/dp/B004M17ZNI/

With a low profile HD 7750 like this,
http://www.amazon.com/Sapphire-Profile-PCI-Express-Graphics-11202-10-20G/dp/B0095MRLJ2/

That should be fine.
That board is tad expensive though.

I am sure it would cost about the same or a bit more for the APU and a itx board for it though.

Oh my...
That is the right link but the picture change from the search to the actual listing.

Search,
http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_i_1_7?url=search-alias%3Delectronics&field-keywords=am3+itx+motherboard&sprefix=am3+itx%2Celectronics%2C194

It is the first on the left.

Well here is one that would work too and has a pci-e slot,
http://www.memory4less.com/m4l_itemdetail.aspx?itemid=1465381064&rid=93&origin=pla&gclid=CJ_nqMaD4LcCFWYV7Aodz3sAZg

Never bought from them though,

Another reasonably cheaper route is to just build a micro ATX PC with a SFF case.
I would be a little bit bigger but would keep costs WAY down and make finding parts MUCH easier.
This is the better choice IMO. :)

Here is a small microatx build.

Board,
http://www.amazon.com/Gigabyte-DDR3-Micro-Motherboard-GA-78LMT-S2/dp/B00981571O/

Case,
http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=sr_nr_p_n_feature_keywords_0?rh=n%3A572238%2Ck%3Amicro+atx+case%2Cp_n_feature_keywords_browse-bin%3A3606145011&keywords=micro+atx+case&ie=UTF8&qid=1371095502&rnid=2885291011
Thats a pretty good selection of micro atx cases.

Lastly comes the GPU.
If you get a low profile case then the 7750 is the best low profile card I know of.
If you get a regular size one then you could get whatever you want. :)
In the end you would be spending as much on all that as you would on the itx board and APU.

I would beg to differ....

With the phenom, you are running DDR2, apu 6800k, ddr3 with Native 2133mhz support. The ddr3 support alone is worth it. As well, the cores on the phenom are clocking at 3ghz and using a huge die. With the 6800k your getting 4+ghz with stable 5ghz on a good cooler.

I recently purchased a 5800k for a family member, 1866 DDR3. In all tests done to bench the system, it out ran my 940black.
