my computer can't recognize my second monitor

I have 2 AMD Radeon HD 7900 graphics card running on windows 7. For some reason I can't get my computer to recognized the second monitor. Is there something manually I have to do for my second monitor to be recognized? It seems the dvi port on the first graphics card will read both monitors but the second graphics card doesn't recognized either one. Thanks .

When using crossfire both monitors have to be plugged into the primary card as the ports on the secondary are disabled. Have you tried plugging them both into the primary then enabling extended desktop.

Well, each graphics card has one dvi port, otherwise I would plug both monitors into the primary card. Anything else I can do? Thanks.

You could use an HDMI to dvi cable or adapter(either is usually inexpensive). Otherwise you would have to disable crossfire when you want dual monitors, and reenable it when yo need the added performance of crossfire.

Thanks! Any idea on how to disable the crossfire? I'm pretty useless when it comes to computers.
