I'm having a hard time choosing the GPU will balance well with an overclocked 3570k (~4.4 GHz). I plan on overclocking the GPU regardless of the card, so keep that in mind. My budget is ~$290 and the cards I'm seeing at that price at the GTX 660 Ti and the HD 7950. If I want to overclock either of these cards, which will perform best (for gaming) as well as with the 3570k? If there is another card I should consider, let me know!

It really depends, I have a 660 Ti. I dont overclock my GPU and I have my 3570k to 4.0ghz. Overclocking them really depends on what company you go for, for example. ASUS and EVGA tend to have the better cooler solutions that all the other companies IMO.

The 7950 are known for great overclocks, supposedly the get to match 7970's performance. But that depends on the games you wanna play. Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Night runs better on the 660ti and with Physx the experience will be much better. But Battlefield 4 for example, is being made with AMD GPU's in mind so it will run better on the 7950.

That's something else I was considering, PhysX. I don't know how much it will detract from overall performance from the video card. I feel like you definitely need to compensate the graphics quality with these level cards for PhysX to be beneficial. For example, will it be something like PhysX on with High settings or PhysX off with Ultra settings?
