  1. Yes definitely future proof, you have a mobo that can handle multi GPU's and you can also crossfire that card with a 7900 series. You also need a PSU,ODD(optional), Case etc. Unless you already have the other parts
  2. Not a bad build, but might want to be stronger in the CPU department.
  3. I'd lower the mobo to a 970 ( still with good features ) and add in a cooler instead. Higher gaming performance since you can OC your CPU now :

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

    CPU: AMD FX-6300 3.5GHz 6-Core Processor ($119.99 @ Newegg)
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler ($29.98 @ Outlet PC)
    Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3 ATX AM3+ Motherboard ($99.99 @ Microcenter)
    Memory: Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($63.00 @ Newegg)
Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 500GB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($54.99 @ NCIX US)
Video Card: Sapphire Radeon HD 7870 XT 2GB Video Card ($248.98 @ Newegg)
    Total: $613.92

Might downgrade the vga to a Powercolor 7870 xt V2, too, but then that card doesn't have a good cooling system.

Yes, also I can upgrade CPU in the future when Steamroller comes out. I have other parts, need only these 5 parts. Thanks
