hello every1 sorry for my english
i want to upgrade cause i have a bottleneck c2d e8500 @3.6 and a gtx 666 oc 2gb 1920X1080

i have low fps with some games like metro last light. farcry3. crysis2 . tombraider and i dont care about crysis 3 :D

i have a low budget so i will go with i3 3240 that i think it will be better and makes the gaming experience more enjoyable . also i dont mind turn a few graphics options off for a better fps

i think i5 will be a waste of money cause i dont do gaming that much . browsing and chatting most of the time . and its too expensive in my country ( i dont like second hand stuff and its very rare too )

1- i will buy gigabyte h61 s2p for the sake of money will this processor work on it or it will need a bios update with a 2nd generation processor and this pain in the ***

2- will it be wise to think about fx 6300 ??

3- will my current windows 7 work with the new mobo and stuff ( g31 is my current mobo ) cause my dvd is dead

It is wise to think about the fx-6300, but you gotta buy an extra cooler. The fx-6300 is really designed for overclocking. At base it is ok, but once overclocked it is much better.
Example cooler: Cooler Master Evo

Also, if you do go fx-6300 then the motherboard needs to be decent enough to overclock.

How much wattage is your PSU? 500W, 600W...?

hmmmm so that means more money to spend for cpu - its more expensive - , cooler and good mobo that means more money too
so its not a good idea for me to think about it i think i will stick to i3 then
my PSU is 450W

should i just get an i3 2120 ?
is there a difference between it and the i3 3240 in games that i will notice?

and will it be a good upgrade over my 3.6 ghz c2d cash 6m or a waste ? sorry about many questions but iam a bit confused

Your dual core e8500 was released 5 years ago. An i3 will be faster, although still dual core. If you can, get the cheapest i5 (quad core) you can, if not then get whatever i3 is in your budget.

3240 vs 2120? Games won't notice the difference, so I vote for 2120 cuz it's cheaper.
