Hey!

So I've been wanting to get an SSD but I couldn't afford it, now I can. I've both these and both have really good read and write speeds but which one is better. I'll be putting my OS and a few favourite games and stuff onto it, I have a 1tb Archive as well,

any help is nice :).

Solution
The Sandisk Extreme is a Sandforce SSD. The Samsung 840 Pro is newer and not Sandforce-powered. The Samsung 840 Pro would be my choice, unless the Sandisk Extreme is substantially cheaper.

The Samsung is £40 extra. Thinking about it, I'm not gonna be stressing them, is the standard sandisk 256gb ssd any good? it £60 cheaper than the 840 pro and £15 than the 840?

For regular usage, you don't need the fastest SSD in the world - you generally won't know the difference. But for reliability I'd probably pick the regular Samsung 840 over the Sandisk.

Thanks for the answer,
Is the standard sandisk 256gb better than the standard 840 250gb. It's £15 cheaper than the 840. Also the Sandisk ultra Plus is exactly the same price as the 840. I'm looking around the £115-£130 so I saw these any good?

I would probably pick the Samsung 840. Better or worse performance depends on the kind of workload, and reliability is also a factor (Samsung is regarded as one of the most reliable SSD vendors).
