Hey guys, so I might upgrade to a 3 monitor setup for gaming sometime. Right now I run on a single 27" 1920x1080 display, the new setup will have 3 of those.

Currently I have an EVGA GTX 670 FTW 2GB that I am very happy with. However, I know that I will need a significant amount of memory on my video card for high resolution gaming, therefore on 3 displays.

So, will two 670's in SLI, each with 2GB be enough for triple-monitor gaming? Or will I need to get a new, or a couple new, cards to do that?

Currently, I've looked at a couple options:

1) Buy another 670 2GB and SLI
2) Sell my current 670 2GB and get a 780 3GB
3) Sell my current 670 2GB and get 2x 7950 3GB
4) Sell my current 670 2GB and get 2x 660 Ti 3GB

I would prefer to remain with any sort of Nvidia card, mostly because of Physx support and I'm a fanboy.

What would you guys recommend? Do you think 2GB is enough for 3 monitors? I'm not too concerned with upgradeability, as the next time I get new cards will most likely be in the relatively distant future for next-gen 800 series cards. And heat/noise/power consumption isn't an issue. I have extremely powerful, albeit noisy fans already. Trust me, my PC already sounds like an airplane taking off (doesn't bother me, I value performance).

Personally, I would definitely go for higher memory models. 3GB would be the minimum. I have just started messing around with really high res setups like your talking about and memory makes a huge difference. I had 2 gtx 680 2GB, and they didn't cut it for my goals. (I like to run skyrim heavily modified with hi res texture packs etc.) 2 670 4GB's in SLI was a massive improvement. Of course some games wont care as much...

What kind of budget you looking at for the cards?

Edit: If you are looking at multi card setups, I would stay away from AMD for the time being. However, for single card setups they are great at high resolutions! Like a 7970 4GB would be really good for a single card in your situation.

Thanks for the input. I don't really have a "budget", it's more a question of how long I want to save up money and how much I am willing to spend. I'd rather wait a month and get much better performance than go the cheap route and regret it months later. That being said, I do have sort of a budget in that I don't want to go overboard with 690 SLI or anything like that.

Well, if budget isn't too big an issue, I would personally go with 2 770 4GB (hard to find right now, all out of stock) or 2 670 4GB models. Both would be great for your situation.

If you decide to go with a single card setup, like I said in my previous post, a 7970 would be great.
