Can this CPU handle the AMD 7950 or 7970? Or should i go with an higher CPU? Or can I go with a cheaper CPU without bottlenecking the graphics card? Thanks! (CPU in title)

AMD. AMD's 8350 is comparable to the 3570K in gaming. In multithreaded workloads, the 8350 comes out on top by a signficant margin.

The 8350 is cheaper, and so are AMD's equivalent motherboards.

You do know you'll have to buy an AMD motherboard for an AMD CPU, right? Same goes for intel. intel CPU requires an intel motherboard.

What will you be doing with your computer? Just gaming or will you be doing work such as 3D rendering?

As you can tell from my system specs I have an AMD FX-8350 and an AMD 7950 3GB video card. Love them both and I've built over 30 computers.. haven't had any issue and plays games very smoothly. Also, my programs that are AMD optimized perform very well.

Like what Majincry said, what are you planning on using this system for? I use it for games, video editing, photoshop and after effects.

I mostly play MMO's but I do wanna play games such as BF3, not crysis3 that games is too demanding. I will only use this pc for gaming. And Hybrid, can you say me wich graphics card would be perfect for 768p gaming?

You should be fine with either processor :) Just for additional information, the 8150 is based off of the Zambezi architecture and the 8350 is based off the Vishera architecture. So in addition to 400Mhz+ speed difference, there is a little bit of improvement in the 8350 architecture for better performance. For an extra $20 I think it lends itself for getting an 8350. I look at it this way, if you're already spending $179 for a CPU then you might as well spend an additional $20 for the top.

If you have a very tight budget then the 8150 should be fine :)

LOL you do know that you can turn down the graphical settings in Crysis3 so that is scales to the rig you are playing it on.

Intel and nvidia biased read but still good information.

For AMD, get a 7850 (2gb) or above. If it is a 7850, make sure it is at least 2GB. If you get a 1GB card you then just wasted your money.

For AMD I recommend:
7850 (2GB), 7870, 7950, 7970

For Nvidia I recommend:
660 Ti + or above

I have an AMD 7950 and love it. You can even clock it to closely match a 7970 so you get performance and save some money as well.

Well, on this site the GTX 660 ti is cheaper, so I would probaly go for the 660ti or 7950! Very weird I know.

7950 has 3GB of memory vs, 660 Ti 2GB memory and a higher memory bit of 384 vs 192.

I'd go with 7950

actually 7950 is more expensive, if you have "tight" budget, buy an 7870 XT, overclocked has performance of an GTX 670
