Hi Everyone,

I have this MB: ASUS P6X58D Premium LGA 1366 Intel X58 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

I have this Processor: Intel Core i7-960 Bloomfield 3.2GHz LGA 1366 130W Quad-Core Desktop Processor BX80601960

I have this Memory: Corsair Dominator 12GB (3x4GB) DDR3 1600 MHz (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory (CMP12GX3M3A1600C9)

I would like to know if this will work in my system: PNY - GeForce GTX 680 Graphic Card - 1006 MHz Core - 4 GB GDDR5 SDRAM - PCI Express 3.0 x16

Any help would be best. Would a 2GB work better?

Thanks for all your help

I plan on upgrading some time in the future and want to just make the upgrade now. I looked at the GTX 670 and I think I'll be going with that since it's cheaper and not much performance loss

Big is better. I have a Sony U3011 at home. That's 30 inches of 2560X1600 resolution. A dream come true!

he asked if it would work...i answered the question correctly. and 3 monitors would be considered "higher resolutions", right?

What does that have to do with 4GB Vram being useless on any single monitor sans 4K ?

his question wasnt "will i use all 4 gb up on my one monitor", he asked if it would work with his system. i said yes but 2 would be cheaper and 4 was more useful at higher resolutions (e.g. multi monitor). regardless this isnt helping him at all. im not arguing with you, i agree that its not worth it, especially at his resolution.

If you plan on upgrading later but just want to upgrade the video now then I would suggest a GTX-770. It would perform for a log time very good and when you get some other newer parts the future you would have a great graphics card already.

It's cheaper than a 680 and better, it a little more than a 670 and much better. I think you would get a longer life span out of it than either a 670 or 680.

Or perhaps wait a few days for the GTX-760 (760Ti) to be released and see what it is all about, from what I read it should be any day now. should have the performance of the 670 and a lot cheaper...

I am not arguing. i am trying to save OP some cash. OP cannot use 4GB Vram as most people can't so ....
