So it all started with my computer freezing and stuttering randomly one day. It would just stop and freeze and I'd have to wait like 5 minutes before it was okay again. I had thought it was an overheating thing as one time Windows wouldn't boot up and the BIOS indicated that the cpu was overheating.

So, I cleaned it with compressed air and took apart my computer. I put it back together and the vga led light on my computer lit up. Nothing would show up on my screen which I assume was a graphics card issue. The graphics card (Radeon HD 6780) required two PCI-E plugs from the PSU to work. The fan in the graphics card would spin but nothing would show up on the screen, and everything else seems to be working fine except nothing would show on the screen.

I then took out an old graphics card (gt 210) I had which doesn't require any additional power from the PSU. This one worked fine, but my computer would occasionally freeze and stutter like before. The graphics card was pretty old and had some display issues so I thought that was the problem.

So, I ordered a new card, this time from nvidia (660). I plugged this into my computer and this one wouldn't work. Again, the vga led light lit up on my computer. However, the fan would spin on this card, and this card used one PCI-E cable from my PSU.

I think it might be the motherboard but I'm not sure.
