Now that I have this Geforce GTX460 (Fermi) 1GB Video Card, can I use the 9800 GTX= as a PhysX Card?

I was wondering if I could use this 9800GTX+ as a PhysX card?

Would I need two more six pin power connectors from the PSU in order to run it as a PhysX card?

Since I don't have those connectors, would it be better to just use my MSI 8600GT Twin Turbo card instead since it wouldn't need the two six pin power connectors?

You can technically... I experimented myself with a 470SC and an 8600 physx card. It actually hurt the overall performance. The primary card is more than capable of handling physx by its self.

The GTX 460 will not run Physx on Metro last Light as it's not powerful enough. The 9800GTX will just slow your system down.

Considering the demands of Physx, I don't think you will notice a difference between using the 8600 or the 9800. Use the one that requires less power.

The 8600 GT does not support PhysX.

The 9800GTX+ with 128 CUDA cores should be a decent match with the 336 CUDA cores in the GTX 460.

Thanks for the replies.

After further research, I decided not to do the Physx after all. None of the games that I play have Physx capability anyway.
