I currently have an Intel Core 2 Quad @ 2.67 GHz.

Should I replace it with a Intel Core i5-4250U?

Is the i5 a Quad Core? I can upgrade for $150. It is worth it?

And will I notice any changes?

Thanks

i5-4250U is a laptop processor.

If you buy the desktop version of the i5, you'll have to buy a motherboard and ram too, you can't just buy a cpu and put it in your old board.

Yes i5 is quad core.

I think your very confused, you should post asking for suggestions by listing your full computer specs including the make and model number of your motherboard and the type of ram you have, and asking how you can upgrade it.

i3-xxxx - 2 core 4 threads ( sort of like AMD FX-4xxx ) i5-xxxx 4 cores / 4 threads "true" quad core . I7-xxxx 4 cores 8 threads ( sort of like AMD fx-8xxx but ALOT faster)

what are your other specs?

Thank you. I thought it was for a laptop. The guy that has it told me it was for a desktop. That is what confused me. And thank you for the advice.
