Well, I made a thread recently about how black ops 2 isn't working for me. I will be able to load the main menu and after 5 seconds my display will freeze and I can move the mouse but cant select any of the options. After a minute or two I will get a black screen and then crash to desktop with "Nvidia Display Driver has stopped responding and recovered". the only way to close the unresponsive program is to end the task in task manager.

Now tonight, trying to play BF3, and more problems. First of all, I am getting an error "Can't communicate with running game, etc.". I have to restart the pc to fix this. Also, when quitting a mach, the screen will freeze, and I'm forced to use task manager to force close BF3.

Now, I can't even play BF3 anymore. Within a minute or two of loading into a match, I will get a sound loop and the screen will freeze and go black. When I Ctrl Alt Del to desktop, I see the same message getdeviceremovedreason followed by info about my graphics card.

I NEVER had any of these issues until about a week ago. What gives? At first I thought it was a black ops 2 problem, but now I'm getting problems with damn near every game I attempt to play.

Now, I'm running windows 8 64bit. Could this be causing issues? I've heard of problems with games running right on 8, but I wasn't aware that the problem could be this sever.

Or is it my graphics card? I've got a GTX 680, never been overclocked, never had any issues up until now. Both errors seem related to the GPU, but I'm not really sure anymore.

I've tried everything from verifying the integrity of game cache on steam, re-installing the games, lowering GPU and Memory clock on my graphics card, re-installing my GPU drivers and using older/different ones, etc.

Any ideas? I'll re-install my OS at this point if it will fix it, because I'm about done with this, I've wasted so many hours over the past week troubleshooting.

No, I've been running Windows 8 for months with no issues until a week ago. I'm starting to thinks its my GPU. After looking up the error message I get after attempting to play BF3, most of what I found points to an unstable/failing graphics card.

So I'm gonna do some more research and test my card in another system, and if it doesn't work, chances are it's the card. Spend $500 on launch day and this is what I get.

If it turns out to be a faulty GPU, how good is EVGA's customer support? Will I have to pay to ship my card to them? Do they ship a new one to me at the same time I ship mine out, or do I have to wait for them to get mine, examine it, and THEN they ship out my fixed/new card?
