How do I make this resolution to stay?

I am being frustrated because this getting more and more expansive and I can not make it work.

I need 3 duplicated screens and 1 extended screen. I have all duplicated screens come from Asus 7850 video card and extended I connected to the onboard graphics.

Duplicated screens are connected by DVI and VGA with split Y cable that divides signal to 2 monitors.

The problem is that computer loads with 1600X900 resolution.

At first I thought it is because one of the monitors is 20" and only able to display 1600X900. I went on and bought another monitor. Now all monitors able to display 1920X2080 but resolution when computer starts still only goes up to 1600X900. In the settings it is the highest available resolution. If I disconnect 1 monitor from split Y connector, it starts with 1920X1280. If I hot plug another monitor, it also stays 1920X1280. But soon as computer falls asleep, it awakens with 1600X900.

I have to have 1920X1280 resolution for audio recording software to work properly. What can I do to make it stay at right resolution? t is proven that it can display it- it just reverts back to 1600X900 every time I restart.

Also I am using KVM switch between 3 computers, but that is all another story. I try to have 1920X1280 on all computers and monitors. Any help would be appreciated. I am open to other connectivity suggestions, but Eyefinity meant to work with extended screens not duplicated, and adopters are expansive. Thanks a lot.

Your GPU may be the problem.

It may be that your GPU cannot run all the monitors at 1920x1280. The fact that the two monitors can run at 1920x1280 and three run at 1600x900 makes me think that 1600x900 is the max that your GPU can support for three monitors.

This is a Y splitter, all it does is repeats the same signal. There were many speculations about Y splitters, saying that they divide the signal and each monitor only gets half of signal. It looks just as it should be. Also if I start with 2 monitors and when it already on, plug 2nd monitor to Y cable, all 3 work at 1920/1280, until it restarts or it falls asleep. but the fact is that it can work with all 3- it happens when it detects them- it drops back to 1600/900.

Any other ways to connect 3 monitors in duplicate mode? I still have HDMI and DP ports. These 2 monitors not involved with KVM switch- they only apply to this one computer, so I can use anything. The only limit is that one monitor only can use VGA (DVI die), and other- DVI and VGA. I was thinking HDMI to DVI adopter on one, and VGA on another, but it would not work- I have to use DP adopter. So

Monitor 1: DVI

Monitor 2: VGA

Monitor 3: DP to DVI? (Or DP to VGA?) Does it have to be active? Active DP to anything cost over $25.

Thank you again.
