About a week ago I tried running a program and it would crash as soon as I started it up. Supposedly reverting my graphics card drivers to an earlier version would remedy this, and also as recommended by where I got this information, I used an AMD program to attempt a clean install. I believe it was "AMD Catalyst Uninstall Utility 1.2.1.0." After running the program and restarting the computer to finish the process, my monitor stopped displaying anything. This seemed normal since the drivers were gone, and I could just take out the graphics card and use the onboard graphics to reinstall a different version of the drivers. The problem is, this didn't fix the issue.
As soon as I put the graphics card back in, the monitor just wouldn't display anything (no matter if the monitor was plugged into the VGA slot on the motherboard or into the graphics card with a VGA to DVI adapter) I tried switching between the two PCI-E x16 slots and that didn't fix anything. I tried to instead use an HDMI cable to connect the monitor and graphics card, but this also failed to make a difference. I took out the CMOS Battery and waited for 10 minutes with the power pulled out and this didn't help.
I have since formatted my HDD and done a clean reinstall of Windows 7. After installing all of the drivers and updates again, the problem persists. (Though for some reason, my HDD only boots properly when set to IDE mode. Previously it only worked in AHCI mode.) My HDD was checked for any errors.
