Hello good day to all.
This is my AMD FX 8350 Gaming build plan. :)

I put a lot of research into this build so please limit criticism's :)

My questions:
1. I was wondering if I can under-volt it and maintain 4Ghz to get it to run cooler for the stock cooler of the fx 8350? Just until I can get the NH-D14.

2. Will the NH-D14 get me to a safe 4.5-4.7Ghz Overclock?

3. Is overclocking the 7870 XT safe at 1285(Core)/1760(Mem) using TRIXX

4. Will I have any compatibility issues? Especially when overclocking with my current RAM choice?

CASING: Thermaltake overseer RX-1 Full Tower Chassis
I really like the case.
(P5,350)

PROCESSOR: AMD Vishera FX-8350 4.0GHz 8-Core Processor (Black Edition)
Yup.. :)
(P8,450)

MOTHERBOARD: am3+ ASRock 990FX Extreme9
Feature are what brought me to choose this one.
But might also consider ASUS m5a99fx pro rev 2.0
(P8,890)

COOLING-CPU: Stock Cooler
I will use stock cooling for the meantime.
Found a dirt cheap used nh-d14 but seller will wait to sell his entire cpu set before selling it to me. Which might take a long time.
(P1,500)

COOLING PASTE: Tuniq TX-4 High Performance Thermal Compound
(P500)

RAM: GSKILL Sniper 8GB DDR3 1600Mhz Cl9 1.5v (2x4gb)
(P2,250)

SSD: Plextor M5S 128GB SATA3 2.5 SSD
(P4,700)

FAN: NZXT FS-200RB 200mm 800RPM Silent Fan (2 pieces)
(P1,360)

POWER SUPPLY: FSP AURUM CM 750W 80+ Gold Modular PSU (AU-750M)
(P4,800)

VIDEOCARD: Sapphire HD 7870 XT w/ Boost 2GB 256bit GDDR5
(P10,380)

HDD1: Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB, 64mb, WD1002FAEX Sata3
(P3,750)

HDD2: Seagate 2TB 7200rpm 64mb, ST2000DM001 (SATA 6 Gb/s)
[ later upgrade plan]

Hi, you will be able to overclock with CPU while using that ram.

For the graphics card, you'll just have to moniter temps, then you will be able to judge if its a safe overclock. Usually they can't even tell if you burn out a graphics card overclocking and warranty will cover it (not 100% sure about that but ive heard it a couple of times).

You also will not need to undervolt the CPU. The stock heatsink is made to be used. It works fine at stock speeds.
heck, You can even OC a tiny bit with it.
And, lastly, you should be able to get 4.5 out of a 8350 with the NF-D14, although every chip is different so you can never be 100%

Sorry for the misunderstanding, I haven't yet purchased the build and read a review that it can get that high. But I think it would vary from card to card just like processors. Let's hope I get Lucky :)
