Model: HP Pavilion dv5-1140tx Special Edition

My laptop won't turn on. Been working fine the months before until one morning does not turn on, only problem was saying that battery was dead and overheating.

So, battery working fine, plugged in, charging (light is constant - not blinking.).
Tried resetting, took out battery, hold the power button for 30 secs, nothing happened.

When pressing on power button nothing happens, does not turn on at all, not lights only the battery light is on.

Please help me understand what's wrong. Maybe the Mboard.

Model: HP Pavilion G6

Fan is not working at all, getting error messages. Would cleaning it up fix it or needs new fan?

Thank You.

PS : HP Laptops sucks, never buying again. Always problems with overheating.

Thanks for the quick reply, I'll have a look at the link and keep you posted.

I've disassembled the laptop and everything seems fine and cleaned it up. Is there a way to know if the motherboard is still working?

Thanks.

Unfortunately, not without specialized equipment. Since you have cleaned the unit (and aren't afraid of the innards) I might suggest checking the CMOS battery if possible (may be soldered in though) and also look at the capacitors on the motherboard for obvious signs of damage.
Going to speculate here that if the unit had shut itself down in the past for heat issues, that the issue may be with the CPU itself (I don't know for sure, simply thinking "aloud")
