I have Windows 8. I am unable to connect to the Actiontec MI424WR wirelessly. It picks up the signal fine, but whenever I try to connect, it takes a while and then just says it can't connect. It will continue to try and connect, only ever getting as far as limited access then quickly losing the connection, all with a good signal. There are other computers that are connected, a Windows 7 computer and some Apple computers. I am able to use a wired connection, which works perfectly. The only thing that doesn't work is getting it to work wirelessly. The router is a b/g/n and then adapter is an N. I am using a WEP encryption. The adapter is built in, and does not work no matter the proximity to the router.

First off, don't use WEP. Horribly broken. Not even a speedbump if someone wants in.
Especially the default passcode that Verizon supplies on their ActionTecs. Even more broken. If I can see your SSID, I can determine your security key in a few seconds.

Now...as to the actual problem:
There is nothing special in Win8 that would prevent connecting to that. I have both, and it connects seamlessly.

Drivers for the adapter, maybe?

I have checked the drivers, all are up to date. Further, I am able to connect to other wireless connections outside of this router.
