I have an i5-4670 that I am trying to overclock, yet I am completely in the dark about it.

CPU: i5-4670 3.4Ghz (not the K version)
Mobo: MB ASROCK|Z87 EXTREME3 LGA1150 R
OS: Win 7 home
PSU: 900W Antec something
8GB Mushkin 7-9-8-24 memory @ 1.65v

I am trying to OC my system without destroying my rig. Would appreciate any help!

With a non-K, the only overclocking you can do is by altering the BCLK which is used to generate USB, PCIe, SATA, CPU, RAM, etc. clocks so your max overclock is limited by the lowest tolerance of any device attached to your PC.

This usually means practical overclocks of less than 5%.

No problem. Most CPUs are locked, including yours. Intel's 'k' series of chips have an unlocked clock rate multiplier allowing you to overclock the chip past it's usual settings. It's a shame really, you have a motherboard and CPU cooler that are up to the task, just not the right processor.
